Art as Autobiography
Many artists use their art to explore their own lives. They may reflect on people or events from their past lives or consider how their lives might unfold in the future. Many artists throughout history have drawn upon their own personal references in their art, whether they have created very realistic self-portraits or used more exploratory techniques, colors, and media. Autobiographical art isn’t necessary a self-portrait. It is more complex. Consider how this young artists explores many potential facets of her life, including aspirations and external factors. There is a popular saying that every art is autobiographical in some way, some more overtly than others.
