Create-Your-Own Backpack Kit

The Fine Arts Center is kicking off its Fall 2020 Second Saturday Art Cafe series with FREE backpack kits that children between the ages of 5 and 12 can customize and use to store their own art project. Each kit contains one backpack bag and markers.

Kits will be available for pick up at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley on Wednesday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Registration is required for children to participate so please be sure to use this registration form. There will be 100 kits available each week and they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

All materials and directions are included in our backpack kit, but you can also follow along as board member, Toni Bowman, demonstrates creating a bag in the video below. You can also download the directions in PDF to be printed out.

When your child has finished designing their bag, please send us a picture of their bag to info@facnrv.org or post on the Center’s Facebook page, and we’ll post it in a gallery below just like our featured young artist.
