Volunteer for The Fine Arts Center 

Volunteers are an essential part of the Fine Arts Center’s programs. We offer volunteer opportunities throughout the organization, including assisting in our gallery, off site exhibits, events, summer art camps, and a gift shop. You’ll find like-minded friends, comradery, and the satisfaction of supporting one of the area’s premier arts and culture organizations. The Center is always looking for enthusiastic people to join our volunteer team and make a commitment of time and interest. Opportunities to work in gallery operations, education, marketing, development, facilities management, and our administrative offices are available.

Who can volunteer?

People of all ages and backgrounds can volunteer. We welcome volunteers who are responsible, enthusiastic, and willing to commit several hours a month to serving others. Whether you are a retiree, a student or just have some extra time you would like to give, your participation is greatly appreciated!  The Center depends on a committed group of dedicated member volunteers to fill a variety of positions and to participate in a wide range of activities and events vital to the successful operation of the Center. Current Volunteer Opportunities

Gallery Operations (Gallery Docent)  Need volunteers to work 2-3 hour shifts in our Gallery or off-site Exhibits. Volunteers will work with staff on specialty exhibitions to provide customer service, serve as guide to our visitors and provide information on the exhibitions.

Gift Shop Sales   Need volunteers to assist with gift shop providing customer service, document transactions, complete artist payment form, and accept payments.

Marketing & Promotion Need ongoing volunteers according to upcoming events. Volunteers will assist with dispersing flyers, posters and information within the community for upcoming programs at the Center.

Event Planning Need volunteers to assist with event planning committees to prepare mailings, search for potential performers or vendors, assist with scheduling, and reporting requirements.

Event Facilitation (Sounds of Summer Concerts, Pulaski Fest, NRV Fair, Holiday Tree Lighting) Need volunteers to work 2-3 hour shifts at various locations of the Center’s operations. Volunteers will assist staff with welcoming families, handing out programs, manning information tables, assisting with activity tables, set-up and clean-up.

Class Facilitation Need ongoing administrative support, weekly and special projects in our Education Department. Volunteers will be helping with project planning and preparation, provide instruction, mailings, working with our education staff, set-up and clean-up, welcoming families, handing out programs, assisting with activity tables. 

Administrative Office Support and Customer Service Need ongoing administrative support, weekly and special projects in our Administrative Office. Volunteers are needed to help with answering phones, data input, mailings and offering office support.

Facilities Need ongoing assistance with small maintenance projects, housekeeping, painting, and moving of furniture or boxes within Center operations.
