• Carved Metal Clay with Martha Biggar Students will learn an original way of working with silver and bronze metal clays by forming shapes and then carving the leather-hard clay the next day. Finished work will be picked up the following week. Friday, June 18, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 19, 10 a.m. to noon. • Beginning Fused Glass with Martha Biggar Students will learn basic fusing techniques including tack and full fusing, metal inclusions and kiln casting. Friday, June 25, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 26, 9 a.m. to noon. Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, 21 West Main Street, Pulaski, VA 24301 Materials kit and class fee $95. No experience necessary, but cutting experience is helpful. Safety glasses are required. Pre-registration is required.
• Beginning Stained Glass with Karanita Ojomo & Brenda Thomas This is a 6 week course in which students will learn the copper foil technique. Saturday, June 26, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Introductory meeting and discussion) Following 5 sessions will be every Saturday from 9 to 11 (class will not meet on July 3) Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, 21 West Main Street, Pulaski, VA 24301 Class fee $65, Materials fee to be announced. Pre-registration is required.
• Art of the Watercolor Miniature with Harriet Anderson During this 6 week course, students will learn the importance of “white space” in watercolor while creating landscapes and still lifes. Wednesdays, 3:30 to 5:00 (beginning Wednesday, June 23)
• Additional classes will be offered in August including beginning Silver Metal Clay, Bronze Metal Clay and Copper Metal Clay with Martha Biggar.
• Center Stage Dance Activities: Irish Step Dance class is currently in progress this summer. The group is dancing to Riverdance and Lord of the Dance music. Hard and soft sole routines are being enjoyed by the class members. Center Stage Dance also offers many varied dance classes beginning in the fall and culminating in a performance in the spring. This fall clogging is being added to the list of classes with the intent of forming a clogging team.

• June 26th 2010 Tie Dye Class ages pre-K and up. Cost: 5.00 plus each person needs to bring their own shirt to design Time: 11:30am - 12:30pm

• July 31st 2010 3-D Cartoon Illustrations ages pre-K and up Cost: $6.00 Time: 11:30am – 12:30pm
